ShinDengen would expand its product lineup of the “Z Series” of 650V high-voltage, high-current fast-recovery diodes.
In recent years, as switching power supplies have become more high-performance and compact, the shift toward higher-frequency circuits has been progressing rapidly. Consequently, issues such as increased noise, power loss and heat generation, and reduced efficiency have become increasingly prominent, posing significant challenges for designers in terms of component selection and thermal management. Against this backdrop, there is an urgent demand in the power supply, lighting, and industrial control equipment markets for semiconductor devices that can simultaneously meet the requirements of “low noise,” “high-speed switching,” and “high efficiency.”
To address these technical challenges, ShinDengen has added four new products to its “Z Series” of 650V high-voltage, high-current fast-recovery diodes.
This product employs an ultra-low injection structure and carrier lifetime control technology. Compared to previous models, it reduces noise by approximately 40% and achieves high-speed switching performance with a trr of 25–40 ns. Consequently, compared to products from other companies, it delivers a 1% increase in efficiency and a 3.2 W reduction in internal losses, contributing to the shift toward higher frequencies in switching power supplies.

Low Noise and Soft Recovery Characteristics
Compared to previous products and competing products, both IRP and VRP have been reduced by approximately 40 percent.
This helps reduce the number of noise-reduction components and meet specification requirements.
High-Speed Switching
Achieves a TRR of 25–40 ns.
Supports high-frequency operation, helping to improve circuit efficiency.
High Efficiency and Low Power Loss
Compared to the competing product FRD, efficiency is improved by 1%, and internal power loss is reduced by 3.2 W.
This contributes to energy savings.
High Voltage and High Temperature Resistance Guaranteed
VRRM = 650 V, Tj = 175 °C guaranteed. Utilizes 5th-generation design rules to enhance reliability.
